MOOLENAAR: "Well, I think first of all, I, you know, the idea that China is, you know, they‘re going to bring their cadre of people and basically they are an armed or a, you know, extension of the CCP. So we know that. I do think freedom of the press is very important. I was glad that President Trump brought Xi Jinping to see the. Declaration of independence and some of our founding documents, because, you know, the freedoms that we enjoy. You know, when you consider China has the great firewall, they imprison people for going to church. They put people like Jimmy lai in prison. Clearly, there‘s a record of violating these basic fundamental rights. Um, but yes, my hope is that we can get to a point where, uh, you know, we do continue to have open communications and respect. You know, I think the media plays an important role in our lives. Uh, they‘re also responsibilities that go with that in terms of, you know, how things are covered in terms of a fair and, and accurate way. And, and of course, every president has their own view on how they‘re being treated. And we‘ve seen, you know, President Biden ban people, you know, President Obama complained a lot.”
