HONIG: "Well, Jim, tonight‘s action clearly violates the spirit of the judge‘s order. I suppose it‘s a bit of an open question whether it violates the technical letter. So when the judge‘s order came down at 1 A.M. on Tuesday morning, Wednesday night into Tuesday, into Thursday morning, here‘s what the judge‘s order said. It ordered the White House to quote, immediately return, reinstate and restore the White House hard pass press credentials to CNN. So I guess the question, if you‘re going to be the White House and try to split hairs here is to say, well, letting someone be the pool reporter is different from giving them their White House hard pass back. Now, that‘s a strange argument. I would not want to go into a federal court and make that argument in front of a federal judge. So one of two things is going to happen here, Jim."
