CARSON: “I remember several years ago, I was in the operating room. And the telephone rings and the circulating nurse holds the phone up to my ear. Because it was the university lawyers. And they were saying the state of Florida is trying to attach your wages for child support. I said, what? I said, I have three children. I support them very well. And they said, no, there’s a woman in Florida who says you are the father of her son. And she knows where you went to grade school, high school, college, medical school, internship, residency, and she has a picture of you in scrubs. I said, anybody can get that. Are you kidding me? On the basis of that, a paternity suit? I had to get my personal lawyer involved. It escalated.”
