ROGERS: “And then think about what the tenor and tone of this election took after August. Mean and divisive and candidly anti-American in it’s approach. Brought an individual to this state — and that’s one problem, Hasan Piker, but he brought him to our students. This is the guy that said we deserved 9/11. This is the guy who says he hates America. He has a few expletives in there to describe it. This is the guy that says he thinks capitalist blood should run red in America. Now I don’t know how far along you have to get down that list before you decide these folks are not pro America. And they’re telling this next generation, ‘Give up. Give up on the idea that you can do better. Give up on the idea that you can get something different.’ If you work a little harder, you get a little break, you actually make your own luck, as my dad used to say. That’s the America I grew up in. That’s the America we want for our kids.”
