Jonathan Martin: ‘This Is Going To Be a Brutal Election for the Party in Power’ as Trump’s Approval Rating Falls

MARTIN: "I’m reminded of the great philosopher who said that it would be a thumping. Of course, that was George W bush in 2006. Yeah. No, if you just look at those numbers separately, obviously this is going to be a brutal election for the party in power. And by the way, props to Alex carson and the crew for those incredible charts. That really puts it in stark relief. The danger for Republicans is twofold. One, is Joe part of their problem? I think that jumps out to me from that fte poll is it’s not how bad Trump is with dems. It’s not even how bad he is with indies, although it’s pretty bad. He’s down in the low 70s now with his own party. This is somebody who’s had a hammerlock on his own party for a decade. He’s only at 72 now."
