In Tears, Alex Witt Signs off from MS NOW: ‘It’s Been Such a Privilege to Earn Your Trust’
EXCERPT:
WITT: “And a special thanks to my longtime executive producer, Nick Kovijanic, who — I knew it would be hard to get to this. You’re a champion, Nick. You fought for me, this show, our team. I’ve never stopped learning from you. You’ve inspired my approach to covering the news and the way I interpret the world around me. You’ve been my rudder through all of this. I promise to keep staring in that direction. You guys have heard me talk about Nick so much. So, look, it takes a village. My village is here. I want to thank you to all of the wonderful colleagues at MS NOW, my studio crew, my technical crew in the control booth, especially these people, my team, for their excellence, for putting in long hours to make it happen every single weekend. And to you, the viewers, it has been such a privilege to earn your trust delivering the news. I’m grateful for your loyalty, keeping me right here in this anchor chair all these years doing this job that I love. Thank you. And lastly, I’m a mom, so to my son and daughter, thank you for embracing and understanding the many ways my weekend hours impacted you. I’m forever proud of you, too, and love you till the end of time. That's gonna do it for me on this edition of 'Alex Witt Reports.' Enjoy your holidays. See ya."
