Henderson on Trump: In S.C. He Told Voters to ‘Pretend That I’m on the Ballot,’ a Lot of Them Did, and Voted for Darline Graham and She Won

HENDERSON: "And I guess it was James Comer saying that he has stuff to do. So it won‘t be their stuff. Doing a lot of work in that sentence. Listen, there is no real upside for a lot of these folks. I mean, and they‘re right. They probably should be home in their district campaigning for the voters there. You know, the purpose of Trump and Molly is exactly right. It is sort of a plea to come home to daddy, right? Daddy being Donald Trump in this sense. You saw what he did in that South Carolina Senate race where he essentially told those voters to pretend that I am on the ballot. And a lot of them did, and they voted for darline Graham. And she, of course, won. And so that‘s essentially what the argument is going to be here. The voters come out for Donald Trump. So what if you don‘t like some of these candidates? Maybe they don‘t even know some of these candidates. But Trump is going to say, think about me and come out and we‘ll see what we‘ll see. Listen, how many people watch this and how many people watch the NFL games on?"
