Energy Sec. Wright on Data Centers: If We Make It Impossible to Build ‘Em Here, It Doesn’t Mean They’re Not Gonna Be Built

WRIGHT: "I’ve been sort of practicing or whole Department of Energy practicing permanent reform by trying to enable it easier to build things that people look at us like we’re. Weird with that attitude. But we need to have that attitude and that infrastructure across the government, so it’s technologies, evolve and and and and people want to build different kind of things that they can actually do it. How can we have the next generation nuclear, the next generation manufacturing or the next generation thing we haven’t even thought about if it’s big and bold? How is that can how’s it going to happen in America if somebody’s also idea, that involves building something big and they can’t build it like, we would stop innovation, we would stop progress and in in data centers are are perfect example of we make it impossible to build them here. It doesn’t mean they’re not going to be built. Just means they’re going to be built in China can be built the Middle East. I tell local communities here.
