Sen. Moreno on the Loss of Faith in Capitalism: We Have to Show Young People That You Can Have a Great Life in America
EXCERPT:
MORENO: “But I was still able to buy my first house when I was 25 years old. And I think that’s — to most young people, that’s not real today and that’s a problem. Most young people don’t think they can go out and raise a family. That seems out of reach. I had four kids by the time I was 30 years old. I think most 30-year-olds would be, like, oh my God, I can’t even afford a dog right now, let alone four kids. And they’re not wrong. So, I think the crisis is something that we as policymakers have to solve. We have to show young people that you can have a great life in America with policies that drive down costs, provide good jobs the way I described earlier. And that is also something, Scott, that I think should unite Democrats and Republicans.”
