Sen. Bernie Moreno: ‘I Don’t Want a Single Taxpayer Dollar Going to Support a Data Center, Period’

‘I’m actually most likely gonna introduce federal legislation’

RUSH EXCERPT:
MORENO: 'Look: let’s talk about the hundred pound elephant or rome, which is data centers. That’s a very topical conversation went out that there was some people had some opinions outside just a little bit ago. Here, here’s my point of view and there’s never ignore what people are thinking. I learned that in business I give you think that all the customer doesn’t order. Talking about you really gotta business. There’s, there’s anger out there. Yeah I understand. Okay will work is, is conservation coming from it quite frankly and a data center conversation I totally get. I think they’re right, we we’ve there’s been a narrative that says: hey these data centers going to come into our community and take our water and pollute our environment they’re, going to raise our electricity prices, they’re going to eventually put us out of work and our taxpayer dollars are going to support structure. These things. The worst sales pitch in the history of sales pitches right it would be for that. So we have 10 dollars and say we screwed up. That’s not what this is about number one, no taxes, as I don’t want a single taxpayer dollar going to support a data center period. Now that’s up to local communities and state governments, I’m actually. Most likely going to introduce federal legislation says if a state or local government gives a data center a tax incentive. The federal government will pets that, instead of at one hundred percent, so many take that out of the equation, no more taxpayer dollars period.”
