HASSETT: “And so, for example, President Trump’s tariff policy and his Big Beautiful Bill have made it so people should be building factories. Well, the number of people building factories has gone from about almost nothing under Joe Biden to about 90-something thousand people who are now building factories because they’re onshoring production and they’re expensing the factories. Also, we saw a big surge in utility employment because, while people are anxious that data centers might raise their utility bills, the utilities are working overtime to hire people to expand their capacity so that data centers can go wherever they want without making people’s electric bills go up. And so, there’s so much good news in this report that it’s consistent with everything else we’ve seen, which wasn’t true last time.”
