Joyce Beatty: Trump Is ‘Throwing a Tantrum’ over the Kennedy Center Case, Saying He’s Considering Tearing It Down

‘and making it into an amphitheater’

EXCERPT:

BEATTY: "Well, here‘s what we‘re thinking. Because it is federal court, because we have been victorious in the response from the federal judge, and that they agreed to push back the date, now I‘m not trusting necessarily, but we do have the law on our side, and they have followed the other rules. Many thought he would never take his name off the building, and we were able to win in that case and the name did come down. I want to make that clear. But where we are now is waiting on discovery and we are continuing to go to court, and we‘ll continue to do that. But I do think that we need to be concerned. You mentioned the East Wing and what happened there, and we could talk about the reflecting pool and so many other things, because he‘s the type of person that‘s throwing a tantrum. 'I didn‘t get my way and so now I‘ll consider just tearing it down and making it into an amphitheater.' But here‘s the other thing. We have so many of the American people on our side, the hundreds of hundreds of performers who have performed there in in recent times. And all of the followers for this is a little different than the reflecting pool, it‘s a little different than the East Wing, and it is the only living memorial to John F. Kennedy."
