COBB: “It‘s a very significant ruling. I think many people predicted this, frankly, in the constitutional law community, standing is a complicated issue. And and the Supreme Court has been less than rigorous, I think, about applying the standards historically. Um, you know, they as the, as the majority pointed out, they weren‘t ruling on the merits of whether Trump had the authority to do this. They were ruling on the issue of standing. And, you know, whether the, um, historic trust, they‘re one they‘re one injured person was a sufficient basis upon which to grant standing and concluded it was not Chief Justice Roberts took the standing law that‘s typically applied in serious environmental cases, pointed out how under under that standard, frankly, that, you know, that he believed there was standing and he was the only one of the justices to address the merits of the case.”
