HEINRICHS: "Missile defense is such a critical component of what the United States needs right now for our strategic deterrence. Yes, we need plenty of offensive capabilities, but clearly there’s a place for defensive weapons, which is what we are learning not just in an Israel's defensive war against the Iranians and their proxies, but the Ukrainians defending themselves, their life, their liberty, against Russian aggressors. We need missile defense. We do have the technical capabilities to build out these things. We do need Golden Dome, President Trump’s big mission to create a much more robust missile defense system to provide protection of what Americans value most to deter our adversaries, the Chinese, the Russians and others, from even thinking that the United States has vulnerable targets they can hit. it's incredibly important we've demonstrated the capabilities."
