NAWAZ: "I think adrienne laid it out really well there. Al sayyed is running in a party in which the views towards the state of Israel have shifted dramatically in recent years. They are more Democrats who are increasingly critical of Israel’s war conduct, increasingly critical of U.S. Aid, going to the state of Israel. That’s a debate that’s going on in the Democratic Party. That criticism of the Israel state policies is different from anti-Semitism, which we have seen a dangerous and dramatic surge in. So, absolutely, al sayyed’s running for a big office. He should face big, tough questions, and he is. Jewish voters deserve that. They need those answers to make decisions. Muslim voters in his state and countrywide deserve answers about some of the anti-Muslim rhetoric we’ve seen from the president, his advisers, and sitting members of Congress. Black voters deserve answers about why his staffer posted white supremacist content. If we all agree this language is dangerous, they should all be facing those questions, not just during elections."
