Karen Bass Is Proud to Have ‘Issued Executive Directives’ to Not Allow City Collaboration with ICE

BASS: “I issued executive directives, making sure that the city had no involvement. In other words, ICE was trying to do a number of things, like staging their raids on city property. And we banned that from happening. We put up signs and we empowered city staff to resist. We raised money, we delivered food. All of this, by the way, the spotlight has shifted. However, the raids continue. They are not as egregious — well, anything is egregious in terms of the raid, but they’re not speeding up and down the streets, snatching people on the same degree that they were before.”
