Charles Barkley: The WNBA Is for Women; Supporting the Trans Community Doesn’t Mean They Should Play in Women’s Sports

BARKLEY: "I did not agree with that. Listen, I did not agree with it. I said it, and I will say it again, people get mad, whatever. I'm gonna always support my gay friends. I will always support my transgender friends. Under no circumstances do I think men should compete against women. I did not agree with that. I don’t go back and forth yelling with people, I told you, I’m disappointed in Adam Silver. I love Adam Silver, he’s amazing. I like Cathy a lot. They should have said this three weeks ago: 'It's called the WNBA. We're not gonna discuss this. We’re not going to turn it loose to the the jackasses on the internet. We’re gonna say, the WNBA is for women and we’re not gonna discuss it again.' I’m disappointed at Adam and Cathy. Like, you just say it. Just say it."

SMERCONISH: "The way I express it is, I’m for inclusion, but not at the expense of fairness."

BARKLEY: "Hundred percent, A hundred percent. Like I say, I’m gonna always support the gay community and the transgender, but that doesn’t mean they can play sports against women, period."
