HOTEZ: “The states are pretty much on their own about this. So this means that the state of Pennsylvania is going to have to mobilize a catch-up vaccination campaign in Lancaster County, possibly elsewhere. But you know, if you've got this steady stream of anti-vaccine rhetoric coming out of Washington, D.C. and Department of Health and Human Services, that makes it much more difficult. And what we're seeing from Washington, D.C. is still the same old fake assertions about MMR, measles, mumps, rubella vaccine causing autism. And then the rhetoric goes on. He says it's a leaky vaccine, whatever that means, it declines in 4 percent protection per year. That's not true. It's 0.04 percent.”
