John Yoo: ‘I Do Not Think Young People Actually Fulfill the Stereotype’ of Backing Democratic Socialists
RUSH EXCERPT:
YOO: "I often tell my retired friends there going to retire, new simple writing and work with young people. As a teacher that’s not all it’s cracked up to be. But in all seriousness I do spend a lot of time with young people and spending half of the year at barkley and half the year at the school of civic leadership at ut Austin. I have seen big differences amongst young people. I do not think young people actually fulfill the stereotype that we read that they are all voting for Mamdani or other Democrat socialist. I do think we have some young people who are frustrated and the job market who are voting for people like Mamdani. I think that is because they’ve been ill prepared for the job market they have engaged or indulge themselves in college and not prepare themselves for getting the right kind of education and learning western civilization and the great books and grim useful skills. I think in other parts of the country though I see young people who are very reluctant to embrace this socialist program that are not listening to university administrators or people in Hollywood, or big figures in media who are trying to figure things out for themselves”
