Nicolle Wallace: For the First Time, Trump Is ‘Underwater’ in Immigration Polling
‘80% of Americans responding said that immigration is a good thing’
EXCERPT:
WALLACE: “So, Angelo, this is always ominous and we will cover it as such. However, the predicate is that the coalition that voted for Donald Trump is as agitated about immigration as it was two years ago. And the truth is, last time The New York Times asked about support for immigration, it was at its highest rate in about 40 years. 80% of Americans responding said that immigration is a good thing. You’ve also got Trump, for the first time in his political life, underwater on the question of immigration. So less people are animated by it and less people are sort of going to the polls over these issues than did just two years ago.”
