De Blasio: ‘We Desperately Needed Rejuvenation as a Party ... I Don’t Care About the DSA Label’

‘You can’t beat something with nothing’

EXCERPT:

DE BLASIO: “Democrats are talking about affordability constantly. They’re showing energy, they’re showing edge. But we’re also putting out candidates who express urgency, who express a desire to make a change. Well, that’s going to motivate voters. They’re going to see something worth voting for. And I think the Democratic establishment really needs to get this memo. We desperately needed rejuvenation. As a party, we were flailing. We were captive to consultants and donors. We were Washington-based instead of based in neighborhoods and in small towns. This newer Democratic Party, I don’t care about the DSA label, and I don’t agree with the DSA platform on many levels, nor do these progressive candidates. What I’m seeing is candidates with energy and urgency who are talking to the American people directly."
