GONZALES: “Well, I'm worried, of course. And I think there are 49 senators who believe that Todd Blanche is unfit, unqualified, to serve as the Attorney General, given past history. But I'm an optimistic person by nature, and I think we need to look forward. I think it's important to look forward, turn the page, and hopefully the full weight of history will fall upon Todd Blanche, and he'll understand the important role of the attorney general in protecting the men and women at the Department of Justice, in ensuring the rule of law in this country. I think it's vitally important. And so I give him the benefit of the doubt.”
