WEISSMANN: “So I do think the reflecting pool case is actually a reflection on this administration in the in the most dire way you have here, the president of the United States causing an individual to be indicted who is innocent. And the reason that I think Jeanine Pirro had to do this is because, as you mentioned, the courts are a place where facts and law still matter, and you just can’t say someone’s guilty without proof. And to be cynical, I think one of the reasons that Jeanine Pirro did this is it actually saves the administration, because this was going to go to trial at the end of September. Just think of the timing there. So shortly before the midterms, and this was going to be a debacle, as we know from the filing. In other words, there is no proof here. So you would have had days and days of testimony showing that the D.C. U.S. Attorney’s office, that Todd blanch and the president of the United States have brought a case where the person was actually innocent. And that is hardly something that this”
