Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse: ‘There’s Never a Signature’ From Trump Lawyers on Blanche’s DoJ Agreements

WHITEHOUSE: “Yeah, the sort of basic rule is that when there’s a contract or agreement between two parties, both parties have to represent their agreement to it. Even back to the old days when somebody, you know, made their x because they couldn’t sign their name, you still made a physical mark that manifested that this was, in fact, a deal. And what’s weird is that there’s a reciprocal here in all the Department of Justice stuff that comes out. There’s never a signature or any apparent manifestation of consent by the Trump lawyers. But then you go back down to Florida, where the lawsuit is still being reviewed, and it’s actually under appeal. And the judge has just asked six very good lawyers to respond to the appeal. So that’s continuing. But in all of that, the Department of Justice never appeared."
