Annie Linskey on Jobs Report: The Real Problem for the W.H. Is Inflation, That’s Driving Down Trump’s Approval Ratings
RUSH EXCERPT:
LINSKEY: "Yes. The job — the jobs report, it’s not great for the White House but the real problem that the White House has is a different economic indicator which is inflation. And that’s what’s kind of a widespread issue that’s driving down the president’s approval ratings. The president talks about the economy, his voters are going to the grocery stores and they are seeing their bills go up. That’s directly related in many cases to the war in Iran and they are seeing gasoline prices going unrelated to the war in Iran. I think that’s where the president and quite frankly the Fed chair, is focusing attention. I would say the jobs number, when you look at the hood under a little bit it was dragged down by government jobs, so it wasn’t — the private sector jobs weren’t the major job. But it is one day thing to point out, the bigger issue the White House needs to worry about is inflation."
