Noah Rothman: ‘The Deal Breaker Among Democrats Has Been the Anti-Westernism Evinced by El-Sayed’

ROTHMAN: "There's two things going on here, right? There's socialism and there is the anti-Westernism. So, on the socialism side, I thought that graphic was the survey which found that among self-described Democratic Socialists, only 60% support socialism. You'd think they would have examined their own views a little more carefully. And as you say, El-Sayed will say, 'I’m a capitalist, I'm not a socialist. I only want to nationalize the health insurance industry, eliminate border control and confiscate wealth from the wealthy — not to do anything with it, but to level the social playing field. But I'm not a communist.' You can argue that, and you should. But the deal breaker among Democrats has been the anti-Westernism evinced by El-Sayed and evinced in particular by his support for anti-Western Islamist terrorist organizations, if not their actions, at least their motives and their goals. That’s what is breaking the Democratic Party here. Good. I want to see more of it. And  that's what Republicans should harp on. As much as communism, as much as the far-left socialism, it’s the anti-Westernism."
