Sen. Cornyn: ‘The Order Rescinding the Creation of the Weaponization Fund Is Binding’

CORNYN: "Well, the order rescinding the creation of the weaponization fund is binding and would have to be created over again. And I don’t believe, at least during Mr. Blanche's tenure at the DoJ, that would be possible. And we’re dealing with what we can deal with, not the unknown future. There’s also lawsuits challenging the entire settlement, and we will see how those go, but I think we made some good-faith progress in preventing the money from going to people who should not get the money in some unrestricted way, without any guardrails, and limiting the application of the immunity to just the parties through the lawsuit and the IRS."
