CNN’s Manu Raju: Sen. Bernie Moreno Refuses to Answer Questions About His Public Statement on the Abuse Allegations Against Him

RAJU: “Yeah. He didn‘t really didn‘t want to speak much about this really at all. I tried to ask him a question about it. As he walked onto the Senate floor. He walked out there and he walked off the floor. Later, one of my colleagues did catch up with him and she asked marino about his decision to put out the statement yesterday and not earlier. Given this situation has been going on for quite some time, and he took exception to that question. He said, you know, I hope you have never have have to go through a situation like this. And you wouldn‘t ask that kind of question. And then he didn‘t answer further questions about this. Now, we are told that his daughter had urged him to not put out a statement earlier, just given the sensitivity of the situation, given the fact that they have a miller and emily marino have a child together, and that was part of the the thinking about why he did not speak out earlier. But that was one of the questions as well as to hear Bernie Moreno himself talk about this situation. But obviously a very complicated one for the senator and his ex son.”
