Marc Thiessen: Democratic Socialists Have a Different Rhetoric than Mainstream Dems, But There’s No Difference in Their Actions

THIESSEN: “The Democrats say that the Democratic Socialists don't stand for what they believe in. What do the Democratic Socialists want to do? They want to get rid of the southern border. Well, what did Joe Biden do during his four years in the presidency? He opened up the border and let millions of people pour across into the United States. They want to get rid of the Senate. What do the mainstream Democrats want to do? They want to get rid of the filibuster, which would end the Senate as we know it, as a check on their radical agenda. What do the Democratic Socialists want to do? They want to get rid of the Supreme Court. Well, the mainstream Democrats want to, quote/unquote, 'reform' the Supreme Court, either pack the Supreme Court so that there'll be a rubber stamp on Democratic Socialism. They're not that different, Stuart. It's a difference of rhetoric. But in terms of their actions, there's no difference whatsoever between mainstream Democrats and the Democratic Socialists. They just don't want to associate themselves with from each according to his ability to each according to his needs. OK, that's fine. But what they actually want to do is pretty, pretty well aligned.”
