Washington: “My fellow Americans, Mr. President and distinguished guests It is an honor to stand with you today For 30 years of service I have the privilege Of wearing a uniform the United States Army And the army National Guard Like so many who’ve answered call My services took me through moments Of hardships In sacrifices A reflect on which I carry With every day Serving this nation was An honour But when it’s time came To take your uniform off I faced the question Veterans confront How do I continue to serve them For me the answer was On an open road Transition from military life Behind a wheel of commercial truck Has brought renewed sense Of mission for me Veterans make exceptional Truck drivers Because they have core values The military aligns seamlessly With the trucking industry We’re disciplined Vigilant, adaptable And with unwaverble commitment To getting the job done Safely and on time The trucking industry Is more than just a sector Of our economy It is its backbone of our commerce And it’s place where service members Veterans, military spouse Can find A purpose In a way to continue Keeping out great nation moving forward Thank you Mr. President God bless us Service member in their family And God bless the United States of America”
