Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp Calls State-Wide Data Center Moratoriums ‘Irresponsible’

KEMP: "All politics is local, and I think Keisha Lance Bottoms was irresponsible saying that we needed to have a state moratorium on data centers when you have a community like Early County, Georgia that saw a sawmill that was 60 or 80 years old, it closed down, 500 jobs lost, revenue lost in that community, and those people are literally begging me to help them get power so that they can build a data center to create jobs, create revenue to help their local citizens, you know, weather the storm that they're in. So I’m not saying we need a data center in every community that's out there, but to have a moratorium, just like the governor of New York did or what Keisha Lance Bottoms is proposing, to me is irresponsible.”
