Faiz Shakir: The Voices That Are Not Speaking Out Against the Iran War Are Big Business

SHAKIR: "You know, my observation, Chris, is that while he is weak and everything that you said is true, you know, he’s engaged in two things that he needs to work to his advantage. One is depression of the voter turnout. So whatever he can do to make sure fewer people vote, the Republicans are are comfortable playing the charade with him. They may not pass the save America act, but if they can play the game of saying, hey, there’s real concerns and threats with voting, we got to do all these shenanigans, maybe at the state level to depress turnout. They’re good with that. The second thing that Trump knows is that his advantage is the wealth of the oligarchs. He is the president of big business. He is the big he is the president of corporate monopolies. And you’ll note that in the Iran stuff that you’ve talked about at the front, Chris, the voices that are not speaking out against the Iraq war are big business. And in fact, the only thing that tends to compel President Trump when he gets into trouble is when the dow starts to dip, when the S&P 500 starts to move. Oh, you know, the oil inputs for some of my Big Tech oligarchs is a problem, not the condition of working class or small businesses in this country. But when big business stands up and they can move him, but they are not doing it on the Iran war, which is interesting to me."
