Chris Hayes: Lately, Trump Is Rolling Over Like a Dog, You Might Say, Making Capitulations Globally and Domestically, He’s Weak
RUSH EXCERPT:
HAYES: "Good evening from New York. I’m Chris Hayes. Donald Trump is getting weaker by the day. And the stench of loss is now coming off him. He came back into office looking to be a dictator. On day one, his administration came out of the gate like an unstoppable force. It feels like a different era, pushing out executive orders, dismantling agencies, bombing Iran the first time. Remember he did that? His people told us he was a steamroller. He’D roll right over everyone. But lately, Trump is just rolling over like a dog, you might say, making one capitulation after another. Globally and domestically. He is as full of bluster as he ever was. But he is weak and everyone can see how weak he is. They are all calling his bluff from the hardliners in Tehran to the Republicans in his own party in Washington on Capitol Hill last week, Trump was threatening another major offensive against Iran half a year after declaring war on them. More than a month after he told us a peace deal was done. I’m considering a massive attack bigger than ever before, he told Axios on Thursday. He threatened more attacks on civilian bridges and oil refineries and water supplies. But by Friday morning, Trump backed off his threats. And today he said that wasn’t a retreat. It was a gambit."
