Jasmine Wright: Critics Are Seeing DNC’s $15 Million Loan as an ‘Intensifying Problem’ with the Democratic Party’s Viability for the Future

WRIGHT: “Absolutely not. That is the opposite of what they‘re seeing. And actually, they‘re seeing it as just one of the many examples of what they feel is an intensifying problem with the Democratic Party‘s debts, with their accounting, and perhaps their viability for the future. I mean, take that building, for example, right? Yes, they have used it before as collateral and other loans, but this $15 million loan, which they took out in 2025. So an off year election was the highest that they‘ve done so far in an off year election. And it‘s happening in a moment where people are concerned that they may not be able to start making those payments, those payments for this specific loan. It starts in January, and they owe about $1 million just off the top. And so that‘s going to be coming after this really expensive 2026 midterm election. And so it‘s really drawing a lot of concern. I know that you didn‘t go as far as to say that kim Martin should step down, but so many of the people that we spoke to are hoping that this reporting leads to him leaving.”
