JANSING: “I mean there is an authenticity to him. Well, first of all, you hear that sort of northern accent, right? And he was honest with me. I said, you know, do you feel the pressure? He said, yes, I feel the pressure. And in fact, a month ago when Graham Platner stepped down, he was out fishing with his dad. They couldn't even reach him. He had lost the primary for governor and he thought, OK, that's where we are right now. I think, look, this is somebody who speaks very plainly, speaks very clearly. It might not work in a lot bigger states, but in a state like Maine, the Democrats think that could be an advantage, even though he may not have that kind of it factor that Graham Platner had 99 days. And for him, this is very personal.”
