FOSTER: "I do think that the existential narratives, we‘ve been hearing them for a very long time from Democrats and Republicans, I am inclined to agree with you. I think America‘s best days are ahead of it. I think in general, most people are pretty sane. Um, but with respect to the kind of the, the prevalence of socialism in our politics now and how to talk about it in a thoughtful way. I‘m someone who‘s deeply skeptical of socialism. I think Zohran Mamdani is exactly as talented as Megan suggested, and he is charismatic, to borrow a phrase from, um, Joe Biden. He is clean, articulate and bright. Um, the thing about him, though, that is very different than Barack Obama, is a lot of those additional things that were said about Obama, about his radicalism. I mean, he was fairly moderate.”
