Cedar City, Utah: Hours After City Council Votes to Renew Flock Contract, 4 Cameras Destroyed

Just hours after city leaders voted to keep the license plate reader system, police say several of the cameras were vandalized. According to Saint George News, earlier this week, the city council voted to renew its contract with Flock Safety for another two years, while adding that new transparency and oversight measures aimed at easing privacy concerns, but later that same day, police say four cameras were cut down and damaged. Combined with recent other incidents, that brings the total of eight cameras damaged or stolen within the last few weeks.”
