Maine Gubernatorial Candidate Pingree Hannah: Working with Red States to Prevent Rural Hospital Closures ‘Shouldn’t Be a Partisan Issue’
RUSH EXCERPT:
PINGREE: "Well, I think one of the things I talked about is the world health transformation grant. This was you pass. Is part of this build. I really disagreed with they cut funding out of our Medicaid and Medicare system, but it did send this money to mean every single year to try to help ensure that our rural health care system stay afloat, and I will say that a lot of rural hospitals across the country in red states and blue states are worried about what these cuts are going to mean, and I know the red states are facing the same kinds of closures, the same kinds of concern. So this shouldn’t be a partisan issue. I don’t believe it is a partisan issue and I would hope that whoever is done in Washington, representing main but representing all kinds of other states, will be ready to collaborate, and I do think that issue that governors across the country should be working together"
