Costa Mesa Residents Provide Five Hours of Testimony in Opposition to Flock

UNKNOWN MALE: "And I appreciate your efforts tonight to clarify some of that and to put that out there. But a question I’ve gotten is more of a legal question. It seems the [inaudible] or the core issue that a lot of us are having with the Flock system is it's an invasion of our right to privacy. I mean, that’s the big top line argument. And question for city attorney: In public spaces, is there generally a right to privacy in public spaces?"

UNKNOWN FEMALE: "In very limited circumstances, but your physical presence in a public space, whether you’re in your vehicle or not on a bicycle or wherever you may be, that’s public knowledge and public information it’s not private information."

UNKNOWN MALE: "And I’ve seen on the news and things lately, you've got those crazy guys with a green mask standing in front of postal services, filming people, trying to get a rise out of them. And they always say, 'Can’t we — these guys are harassing me. Can't they stop?' But because it’s a federal property public space, you could be filmed in public space even without Flock, without any of this stuff."
