Tennessee Man Faces Property Seizure Threat Years After $20K IRS Refund Mistake
EXCERPT:
REPORTER (voice-over): "The 76-year-old says he’s done everything he can to make it right, including meeting with the IRS taxpayer advocates service in downtown Nashville, an effort, he says, got him nowhere."
KIRBY: "I said, 'What are you doing?' He said, 'I'm paying my parking bill on my telephone.' I said, 'Oh my God.' I said, 'I got a little old telephone. I don't know how to do that.'"
REPORTER (voice-over): "It’s simple what he wants: for the IRS to stop coming after him."
KIRBY: "That little one, he gets caught in the fence. He sticks his horns and then he can't get out."
REPORTER (voice-over): "More than anything, Kirby just wants this to be over."
KIRBY: "That it was all over and done with, praise the Lord, amen, 'cause I've cried, I'm about to cry now. I don’t know what I'm going to do."
