Sec. Rubio on Ukraine: You Can’t Have a Peace Deal if Both Sides Don’t Agree to It
‘We have to find new suggestions and new ideas’
EXCERPT:
RUBIO: “You can't have a peace deal unless both sides agree to it and the Ukrainians would not agree to it. And so that's why that effort didn't work. So we'll have to find new suggestions and new ideas, because certainly that one, it was not acceptable Ukraine at the time and I don't think it's acceptable to them now either. In fact it's probably less acceptable to them. So you know, if -- when peace comes it'll be because of some new idea and some new concepts and we're prepared to offer some of those in the right setting and form if the opportunity presents itself and the conditions are right, we're prepared to play that role in a positive way.”
