James Walkinshaw on ICE’s Use of Force Policies: ‘Only One Single Solitary Officer Has Faced Disciplinary Action’
EXCERPT:
WALKINSHAW: "It was shocking to hear what you just shared, that with 22,000 officers, thousands of violent encounters across the country, six deaths, only one officer, one single solitary officer has faced any kind of disciplinary action. If the agency is truly seeking accountability, if they’re serious about their professionalism and their standards, that is impossible. There is no way that only one officer has violated their use-of-force standards and is being held accountable. Any local or state law enforcement agency small, medium or large, in this 18-month period, I promise you has had more than one officer who has faced some kind of perhaps minor, perhaps major disciplinary action for violating use-of-force standards. It is not possible that there’s only been one at ICE that has violated those standards."
