Michael Steele on Non-Citizens Registered to Vote in New Jersey: ‘The System Caught the Mistake’; ‘It Is Not Broken’

‘This is the process at work’

EXCERPT:

STEELE: "New Jersey, right. It is not. It is not. Let us be clear. It is not broken nor — nor any corruption. This is the process at work. The system caught the mistake. The system ferreted it out. Right? They identified the voters. They did what it was supposed to do. And I think, you know, we cannot take every little bit and turn it in — turn it up and make it more than it actually is. The system is different in every state. You will find mistakes in every state. And every state, from the secretary of state on down, has a process to deal with the correction. So I just wanted to put that on the table because we know the stupid is about to enter the ether, and we want everyone to be clear-eyed and clear-head when they're talking about this and understand, Luke, exactly what we're talking about."
