Dem Sen. Warner: People Are Voting for Extreme DSA Candidates Because We’re Not Delivering

WARNER: “One of the things that I get upset with on the Democratic side, and I think we’re starting to change this and recognize this, we talk a good game sometimes, but actually delivering — a huge frustration for me was when we put all the money, $62 billion, into broadband, but under President Biden we didn’t put a mile of fiber in the ground, because partially the law set up, but we had way too much bureaucracy. You know, there is some hope, though. This road to housing where people from Elizabeth Warren to me, we worked well together, we did a lot of small ball things about trying to increase our 6 million unit-short housing supply. A lot of that was due to adding incentives to try to deregulate the ability to get more houses built quickly and give incentives to localities to do this. So I think the Democratic Party directionally is right. I think we ought to talk less and deliver more. And that frustration, if we don’t deliver more, comes out with some of these folks on on the extreme, I don’t think the best politics are made on the extremes of either party."
