Hugo Lowell on Trump’s 2020 Election Fraud Claims: His Primetime Remarks Really Didn’t Offer Anything New
RUSH EXCERPT:
LOWELL: "I think that people inside the president’s inner circle saying, you know, we need to focus on more pocketbook issues for the midterms. I think John Solomon will probably be safe in his job. He got some support from people in Trump’s orbit immediately after the remarks. And I think that’s basically because Trump’s primetime remarks really didn’t offer anything new. And I think even Trump’s staunchest allies would agree with that assessment. I mean, two things that really stood out to me from the prime time speech. Number one, not even Trump was saying that China hacked into the 2020 elections and that he would have otherwise won the election. And the only real evidence that they put forward was China had access to voter rolls that are mainly already public or publicly accessible for a fee. There was some discussion about voting systems and how there was the potential for voting machines to be hacked, but they didn’t offer any evidence that the machines were actually hacked. So I think even by the Trump Administration’s own standards, even by the president’s own remarks, they don’t get to that point. So I think John Solomon conceding that, no, the election would not have gone in Trump’s way were it not for this voter fraud. I think John Solomon’s probably treading on safe ground there."
