Annie Farmer on J.D. Vance Admitting They Mishandled the Epstein Files Release: It’s the First Time I Heard an Official Owning up to Mistakes
EXCERPT:
FARMER: "I think that it is — it‘s important that they are owning that there is — there are issues with this. That‘s the first time I‘ve heard an official actually really do that. But I think it‘s pretty hollow if there‘s not follow-up. You know, they are continuing to, I guess, in his words, screw up because we know there‘s still files that aren‘t being released. And one of the things that came out this week is that, you know, there was a FOIA request by a journalist, Alison Gill, about training videos that exist around how to redact certain people‘s names, including Trump‘s name. The Department of Justice confirmed that those exist, and yet that should have been included in the release, that kind of information. And we‘re not seeing it. So I think that — you know, they still haven‘t even had any kind of public acknowledgment of the mistakes that were made around not following up with my sister Maria Farmer‘s report in 1996, you know, so they can make these kind of general statements that 'We messed up,' but if they‘re not actually specifically owning up and trying to do better than it doesn‘t bring us much comfort."
