Sen. Kennedy: ‘I Don‘t See Any Reason Not to Confirm’ Todd Blanche; ‘I Think He‘s Honest’

KENNEDY: “Yes, I am. I think — I think Mr. Blanche is a good lawyer. I like his demeanor. I think he‘s honest. I think he‘s frank. He gives the president his frank advice. I don‘t think the president necessarily always takes it, but I think he looks the president of the eye and tells him what he thinks. And I don‘t see any reason not to confirm Mr. Blanche. I know, I doubt he‘ll get many Democratic votes on the committee. I don‘t think my Democratic friends on the committee dislike Mr. Blanche. I think they dislike the president, and this is their way of getting at the president by going through his proposed attorney general. But I thought he did a pretty good job today.”
