I know it’s always been ugly. The campaign that we played at the top between John McCain and Barack Obama, that was ugly as well, but it got uglier. It got more violent. It got nastier when Donald Trump came into politics. I remember those rallies. I was there, he was imploring people to beat up protesters. 'I’ll pay your legal bills,' he said.”
