Brianna Lyman Accuses Mamdani of ‘Erasing History’ for Leaving out ‘Little Italy’ in NYC Map
RUSH EXCERPT:
LYMAN: “Don’t forget little India, little bangladesh, 30 little places that quite frankly surprised a lot of people, I don’t think I was surprised to hear all these New Yorkers say little Italy deserved a spot on the map because it is one of New York City’s most recognizable neighborhoods because it is part of New York City’s history, part of that island immigration history no matter how much Mamdani may try to erase it. I do think this controversy brings a better question, who can erase our history, erase little Italy? I do think the New York City government should look forward and say do I want to define New York City by a bunch of ethnic enclaves like little bangladesh and little India or focus on how we can unite all these different ethnic groups into one people? Do you know how you do that? Promote assimilation, not promote different ethnic identities, different ethnic enclaves, you make America stronger by figuring out ways to unite people.”
