Ro Khanna: If the IDF Can Lie About Not Blocking Us, Imagine What They Can Do to Palestinians

KHANNA: “Well, I was asked a direct question whether I would run. I just said the same thing I always do. I’m considering it. But that was certainly not the purpose of the story. The story was about an armed settlers who detained us for 20 minutes, and then the IDF came and further blocked things. Now the IDF put out a statement saying that they did not block us and that they dispersed the settlers. It turns out the Jerusalem post, which is a center right paper in Israel, now, did an investigation, and they came out with a finding where everyone can read, saying that the the IDF actually did not disperse the settlers. They sat there and perpetuated the detention. They also found that we were allowed to be. In looking at the village first, the IDF claimed that it was some kind of military zone. They found that was false. So you have two instances of the IDF actually covering it up, and by their own paper being false. And we still haven’t received an apology for how they treated Americans. Imagine what they do to Palestinians.”
